New Film: ‘He Said Apple’

'He Said Apple' is a heartwarming documentary film by Filter Studio about Nanaimo Foodshare's Good Food Box Program, and how it has such a positive impact on individuals and families in our community. A look at the amazing volunteer team that gathers weekly to put together hundreds of Good Food Box, and heartwarming stories of community members who purchase it or benefit from a no-cost box, and the beautiful connections and strength that come from community working and being together.

New Report: Delivering on Sustainable Food Systems

This Good Food Box (GFB) evaluation was an initiative facilitated by Nanaimo Foodshare in partnership with the University of Victoria. The GFB program aims to provide access to fresh fruits and vegetables at a low cost to households in the greater Nanaimo area. The GFB uses a pay-what-you-can model for a weekly box of fresh produce to improve the health of seniors in the region. This report presents the results of a program evaluation.
